Germany Consumer Electronics Report Q1 2018

BMI View: German consumer electronics spending levels per capita are lower than in other large developed markets such as the US and UK, reflecting a more conservative consumption culture - but it is still one of the largest and most lucrative markets globally. With a stronger outlook for the euro against the US dollar adopted in the Q118 update there is now greater potential for a shift in the sales mix towards more premium models and brands over the medium term. There is however also downside due to demographics and considerations surrounding the potential for a disorderly Brexit.
