We forecast private consumption in France to record growth of 2.2% in 2018, an increase from the 1.1% recorded in2017, as the economic recovery filters down to consumer confidence. In part, this figure will be capped as a result of an uptick ininflation, which is set to average 1.4% over the year, an increase from 1.0% in 2017. Macron's reform agenda has put an emphasison reducing unemployment and boosting consumer purchasing power, improving our consumer outlook. This bodes well for foodand drink consumption patterns in France with the longer-term trends to convenience and health likely to accelerate through to2022.
