France Consumer & Retail Q4 2019
Our outlook for the French consumer has improved, after bottoming out over Q418-Q119. Consumer confidencecontinues to improve and is now past the long-term average. Unemployment also continues to fall to its lowest level in 10 years,supporting stronger growth in household incomes. However, some indicators do point to a slower recovery, with retail salesremaining below long-term averages. This suggests there will not be a huge acceleration in spending over the short to mediumterm.
