Egypt Tourism Report Q4 2017

BMI View: Tourism has long been a key contributor to Egypt's national economy and existing transport and accommodation infrastructure in the country's most established holiday destinations is well developed. After a significant contraction in visitor arrivals in 2016, the outlook is set to brighten in 2017. Government investment in marketing campaigns to entice visitors to return, coupled with a more competitive currency will see Egypt become a more attractive tourist destination. That said, we note that the domestic and regional security concerns which led to drastic declines previously will remain a high risk to the tourism sector.
