The Czech Republic's tourism industry is poised for healthy growth, with visitor numbersexpected to rise, boosting tourism related spending and hotel and restaurant industry value in an alreadywell-developed market. While much of the tourism industry remains heavily centred on the popular capital,Prague, the government remains committed to expanding the tourism industry across the country and isinvesting in wide-reaching marketing campaigns to raise awareness of its many attractions. Some downsiderisk does stem from regional security concerns in the wake of attacks in major cities in Europe, includingParis, London and Berlin. However, the Czech Republic is still considered a safe destination for touristsoverall.

The hotel sector in the Czech Republic, similar to other markets in the region, faces growing competitionfrom the private rental sector. Popular accommodation website has recently launched anew service in the country offering customers private rentals, in competition with AirBnB, which isalready active in the market.
