Colombia's consumer electronics market returned to growth in 2017 - and with support from peso appreciation againstthe US dollar is expected to achieve double-digit spending growth in 2018. Growth rates will however move to a lower trajectory2019-2022 as the pool of pent-up demand diminishes, but there are still opportunities for vendors to tap into relatively lowpenetration rates, as well as opportunities for a higher value sales mix as the level of consumer affluence increases. Theopportunities available in a frontier market, such as Colombia are, however, accompanied by economic risks from external shocks.
