The outlook for the Chinese tourism market is positive with a number of drivers supporting healthy momentum over thenext five years to 2022. Firstly, the government's 13th Five Year Plan (2016-2020) is targeting the development of infrastructure andtourism; and we expect healthy momentum in the domestic and international arrivals scene as a result. Secondly, the risingspending powers and domestic private final consumption levels will nurture the massive internal tourism industry. Additionally,growing regional sending powers in key source markets coupled with demand for low-cost international travel will support agrowing number of Asia-Pacific tourists onto Chinese shores. Momentum will also be buoyed by the country’s robust constructionpipeline and the high capital investments into transportation and accommodations development over the medium- to long-terms.
