China's food and drink market will continue to be one of the most attractive globally, achieving double-digit growth ratesacross most categories, supported by a favourable consumer spending outlook and lower import tariffs. Although China is enteringa period of slower economic growth, we still see considerable room for expansion as consumers turn to healthier options and tradeup to premium price points. This presents opportunities in spirits, wine, fresh fruit and vegetables and yoghurt, although some sub-sectors, including food staples (bread, rice, cereals and pasta/noodles) and beer will underperform as these markets reachsaturation point.
