BMI View: The outlook for Chile's power sector remains generally positive. The country has one of the most extensive project pipelines across the Latin America region encompassing thermal, hydropower and non-hydropower renewables. A stable policy environment and relatively open economy also make Chile an attractive investment destination. That being said, consumption growth is expected to slow over the coming years and low prices will place margins under further pressure. We also note that some projects have been subject to spiralling costs and construction delays, which will delay the addition of new capacity.
