Caribbean Food & Drink Q1 2021
Food and non-alcoholic drink spending (via mass grocery retail) was for the most part shielded in 2020 from the impactof Covid-19 due to forced lockdowns which favoured and prioritised this spending segment. As we move into 2021, with theCaribbean economies starting to recover, we expect this segment to grow at slower pace (in local currency) than 2020 in mostcountries, with this deceleration caused by tough comparables. An economic recovery, however, will bode well for groceryspending, especially for non-essential and out-of-home F&D categories.
