We forecast strong growth in spending on food and drink in all three countries of Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar due totheir bright consumer outlooks, favourable demographics and economic reforms. Myanmar remains the largest and fastest growingfood and drink market owing to its population size. Alcohol consumption will also see growth although opportunities remainconcentrated towards the beer segment with growth in spending on wine and spirits coming from a low base. However, we docaution risks to investment in these markets due to poor trade procedures and governance as well as underdeveloped transportinfrastructure.
