BMI View: We believe that Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar will offer substantial opportunities for investorsas their economies grow rapidly and become more integrated with the world economy. Growingpopulations, growing GDP, increased urbanisation and a demographic profile favouring a young targetbase all offer opportunities for food and drink operators looking to establish a foothold in the region.Additionally, a forecast increase in tourist numbers over the next few years will also fuel growing interest inmore sophisticated food and drink products among the domestic consumer base.

Cambodia's economic growth rate does not appear to be at risk from the recent political clampdown, at leastin the near term. Indeed, we continue to forecast 7.0% real GDP growth in 2015, from 7.2% in 2014.

Despite facing headwinds from a series of demonstrations and minimum wage hikes, the crucial garmentsector continues to contribute to growth. As the 2018 election approaches, however, political uncertainty islikely to rise and foreign investors may begin to adopt a wait-and-see approach.
