Bulgaria Power Q3 2018
Our core assumptions informing the development of Bulgaria's power industry over the coming decade remainunchanged. Limited project pipeline suggests muted expansion, while extensive coal reserves and well-developed infrastructure willkeep coal-fired generation the largest contributor to domestic energy mix, accounting for around half of total electricity output.Declining population and below-potential economic growth will keep power demand subdued across to 2027, thus furtherdiscouraging substantial expansion of the industry. Nonetheless, renewed government attention on nuclear projects could pose anupside risk to our projections over the long term.
