The growth of food and drinks spending is set to slow over the coming years as Bulgaria's economy moderates. However,growth will still be strong in the traditional categories, with increasing interest in health and wellness trends, as well as innovativeproducts. In the mass grocery retail sector, we expect to see a proliferation of convenience outlets as consumers transition to morefrequent, low-volume shopping trips. Nonetheless, we expect hypermarkets and discounters as well as private labels to retain theirpopularity as Bulgarian consumers remain price-sensitive.
