Bosnia and Herzegovina Infrastructure Report Q4 2017

BMI View: The 2014 floods have left Bosnia's residential, transport and energy infrastructure severelyaffected and extensive development projects should be implemented. The intense activity currently remainsin transport and energy infrastructure industries, financially backed by European and non-Europeanmultilateral organisations. The residential sub-sector continues to grow as the latest number of residentialbuilding permits issued, new dwellings sold, completed dwellings and average price of new dwellings soldhave increased. We forecast construction industry value growth of 2.7% y-o-y in 2017, with an averageannual real growth of 2.6% over 2017-2026.

Forecast & Industry Developments

Bosnia and Herzegovina has formally applied to join the EU. The application was submitted in February2016 and was accepted by the European Council in September 2016, while Bosnia and Herzegovinareceived officially in December 2016 the European Commission's questionnaire, based on which the EUwill decide whether the country is ready to join the bloc.
