We forecast modest growth in consumer electronics device spending in Austria over the medium term, 2020-2023, at aCAGR of 2.6% to a total of USD4.3bn. Potential is limited by the maturity of the market, which leaves vendors primarily reliant onreplacement purchases in the main product categories. The main growth drivers will therefore be purchasing power growth throughrising wages and euro appreciation that enables higher value replacement purchases, and the development of new productcategories such as wearables, smart assistants and AR/VR devices. The principal downside risk is for Austria's economic growthtrajectory to be lowered as a result of deterioration in eurozone growth, a disorderly Brexit or negative spillover from the US-Chinatrade war.
