Operators continue to focus on moving 3G subscribers to 4G networks, although this dynamic will soon make way for 5Gservices, which Telstra and Optus have already launched. In the short term, 5G will largely serve as a fixed-wireless offering, ratherthan for mobile, as consumer mobile devices are still very limited. While NBN uptake has been strong, operators have been voicingconcerns over the high wholesale prices. Strong upsides to fibre-based broadband services is an inevitable trend, as copper-basedconnections are increasingly abandoned for newer and more reliable services.
