Australia Oil & Gas Q4 2019
Australia’s oil and gas production will remain robust over the medium term, although both investment and outputgrowth is firmly shifting in favour of natural gas. A robust pipeline of offshore, brownfield developments stands poised to sustain thecurrent uptrend in gas, and will allow Australia to maintain the mantle of the world’s largest LNG exporter for some time. Outlook forthe downstream sector is more subdued, as the saturated domestic fuel market offers little room for significant growth. Headwindsto making more gas available for the eastern coast markets are leading the government to consider a variety of measures, includingexport curbs and direct LNG imports.
