Asia Telecommunications Q2 2018

BMI View:

We expect Asia's telecoms markets to ride the wave of technological change over the next decade, with 5G enabling newInternet of Things (IoT) services and applications to emerge, although less developed markets will only slowly benefit. Consolidationin markets such as India shows traditional business strategies - aimed at securing growth through aggressive price competition -ultimately benefits no-one and it is to be hoped operators will embrace new service-orientated business models that will deliver themost attractive returns on investment in highly-prized resources such as spectrum.
