Argentina Tourism Report Q2 2016

Argentina Tourism Report Q2 2016

BMI View: Argentina's tourism market offers significant growth potential. The country has a broad range of attractions and extensive supporting infrastructure, including a relatively modern hotel market and growing range of international transport connections. Growth has been hampered in the past by political instability and regional economic pressures; however, Argentina appears to be on a more stable political path, and we expect to see a significant uptick in foreign investor interest moving forward. This will enable the country to compete with more established regional destinations and sustain longer-term tourism growth.

Key Updates And Forecasts:

Argentina is gradually improving international air connectivity. Air Zealand launched a direct flight between New Zealand and Argentina in December 2015, which was followed by the news the airline would promote travel between the countries in partnership with Argentina's National Institute of Tourism Promotion.

Copa Airlines has announced plans to launch an additional new service to Argentina. The new route will connect Panama to Rosario, Argentina, beginning on July 1 2016.
