Angola, Botswana And Namibia Agribusiness Q4 2018
Our view on the agribusiness sector in the south-west Africa region continues to be broadly positive, with rising incomesand increasing populations set to see the region enjoy long-term growth in corn production in particular. However, this is with theexception of corn consumption in Namibia and sugar consumption in Angola, both of which we expect to remain flat across ourforecast period. This quarter has also seen us make a number of revisions to our forecast for both production and consumptionforecasts for both sugar and grains. On the back of these changes our forecasts remain bullish. As of this quarter, all three countriesremain net importers of grains in 2018 and for each year across our five-year forecast period. In the sugar market we continue tosee production growth accelerating across while we see consumption growth remaining flat through to 2021/22.
