The European Union's General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) are set to be enforced starting 25 May 2018. Communications service providers (CSPs) hold significant sets of subscriber data, which leaves them more exposed than most enterprises. This article discusses the immediate and more long-term implications of these regulations for CSPs, recommending that they offer incentives to their customers in exchange for permission to continue using their data.
