This study presents a five-year forecast of the worldwide storage management software market for 2009-2013. This study also provides profiles of leading vendors and identifies the characteristics that vendors will need to be successful in the future.

"The storage management software market continues to grow even in challenging economic times as IT organizations acquire additional storage capacity and look for more efficient methods of managing their storage infrastructure," said Steven Scully, research manager for Storage Software at IDC. "In 2008, the market grew 6.6% over the previous year. Growth will slow to 2.3% in 2009 before rebounding in 2010 and returning to previous growth levels in 2011."
