As the medical industry struggles to migrate from the practice of keeping records on paper, the National ePrescribing Patient Safety Initiative offers help in the form of a free electronic prescribing (e-prescribing) application. But this free application is not suitable for a large number of healthcare providers, and the cost of software is only one of the forces that are hindering the adoption of e-prescribing.
