AV devices accounted for around 27% ofUAE consumer electronics spending in2008. The UAE domestic AV devicemarket was estimated at US$765mn. Themarket is expected to grow at a CAGR of4% between 2008-2013, to a value ofUS$919mn in that year.
Mobile Handsets
Mobile handset sales accounted foraround 12% of UAE consumerelectronics spending in 2008. UAEmarket handset sales are expected togrow at a CAGR of 5% to US$461mn in2013, as mobile subscriber penetrationreaches 215%. Sales will be dominatedby the replacement market and driven bydemand for PDAs, smartphones and 3Ghandsets.
