This IDC Insight is a brief summary of the Marketing Operations Board meeting held on May 6, 2009, in San Jose, California, with 20+ marketing executives in attendance. The morning session was devoted to a discussion centered on best practices in sales enablement, with a focus on marketing content and asset management. In addition to the discussion, IDC presented the preliminary results of its best practices study in sales enablement, and select attendees provided an overview of their marketing content management processes and technologies. In the afternoon session, each attendee highlighted a unique digital marketing activity that was executed by his/her organization, which included a presentation of the activity, campaign objectives, performance metrics, key learnings, and so forth. Also included in the afternoon was a group discussion of future research priorities for the CMO Advisory Service.
