Youth have appreciably increased their presence among the net users since last year.Smaller towns account for a relatively larger proportion of online youth. Online teenagers belong to relatively more affluent households than online young adults.Online youth are ‘heavier’ net users despite their lower experience of the medium.Sociability and entertainment drive internet usage among the online youth.Response to online marketing stimuli is relatively weaker among online youth. Incidence of online buying among youth is much lower at 15% compared to 23% among all internet users. Overall, online youth are relatively less responsive to online marketing stimulus than the more mature internet users (25+ years). Between the two segments, online teenagers are relatively more responsive to online marketing stimuli.
