This report presents Taiwanese LCD monitor shipment volume and value forecasts, as well as recent quarter review of shipment volume, value, ASP, shipment ranking, shipment by maker, and product mix. Also provides price trends, production locations, shipment destinations, and business types by ODM/OBM/private label. The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with LCD monitor makers. The report finds that due to the reduction of orders by branded vendors and channel players which sought to clear their inventories, global economic downturn, and desktop replacement effect, the Taiwanese LCD monitor industry volume inched down in the third quarter of 2008. Meanwhile, the shipment share of widescreen models saw further growth in this quarter, topping 68%. Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, the overall economic turmoil worldwide is expected to bear on the market, driving down both shipment volume and value.
