This Health Industry Insights Perspective summarizes the findings of a survey, conducted by the National Governors' Association (NGA) of state-level eHealth activities, legislative and policy initiatives covering eight key eHealth functions. The survey, published on February 15, 2008, was underwritten by the Commonwealth Fund (www.cmwf.org), an internationally known, not for profit, healthcare policy institute. Forty-one states and the District of Columbia responded. A full copy of the report, entitled State E-Health Activities in 2007: Findings From a State Survey, can be found at www.commonwealthfund.org/ publications.
