ITA Premium: Microsoft Server 2008: Clusters Hold Together

Microsoft has provided clustering capabilities in its server products since the days of Windows NT. With the release of Windows Server 2008, the clustering capabilities have been improved over previous versions.

Some of the enhancements include:
  • Improvements in cluster setup and configuration verification.
  • Simplification of cluster management.
  • Increased stability and performance.
  • Remote site failover capability.
For enterprises using the Server 2008 Enterprise or Data Center edition, this software is included and immediately available for use. For applications that need high availability, Microsoft failover clusters should be a first choice.
