AbstractThis IDC Buyer Case Study summarizes the recent interview IDC had with Mydin, one of Malaysia's largest homegrown retailers. With a focus on videoconferencing, the interview covered multiple aspects of its UC&C solution deployment, including the challenges, the criteria used when they choose partners, the experiences gained as well as the benefits received. In this study, the key finding highlighted is that compared with traditional communications, real-time communications such as videoconferencing is viewed as more effective in achieving business agility by improving productivity and efficiency, and compared with the mainstream videoconferencing solutions, some new solutions are open and scalable, which offer end users more cost-effective and flexible options. In this study, IDC not only provides guidance to end users on UC&C solution selection, but also offers valuable insights to vendors and channels so that they would be able to further understand their customers and the emerging trends in this region.
