AbstractThis is one in a series of IDC that examine utomated oftware uality solutions and provide both vendor analysis and customer reference context for technology adoption. This endor rofile assesses the ASQ strategy and position of Klocwork, a vendor targeting the software quality analysis and measurement analytics arena. , we discuss Klocwork's Klocwork Insight, Klocwork Inspect, Klocwork Solo for Java products. Klocwork's product capability and focus position t well specifically for the code analysis and SQAM arena. We position Klocwork within this product category and relative to trends in user adoption for the SQAM and enterprise ASQ markets. We do so in the context of an overall economy that remains volatile and demands efficient access to software quality and deployment. We also include summaries about product usage from three Klocwork customer references: an electronic design company, a top European router manufacturer, and a service provider for healthcare IT. A common factor for all three references was the business-critical nature of their software, the prohibitive costs of software failure, and a need to address embedded software in some capacity. (All three of these references were using multiple ASQ products.) The references contacted by IDC valued Klocwork for its intuitive product capabilities, support of development environments in use at the organization (e.g., Microsoft Visual Studio, Java, and open source solutions like Maven, Hudson, and Subversion) and company responsiveness to customer needs.
