Organizations' creation and use of file-based data is growing rapidly in terms of data types and solutions used to store that data. Two overarching themes from the survey are that consolidation and improved availability through DR or use of virtualization are important investment priorities. "The expanding diversity and scope of file-based data sets mean that companies are deploying a wide array of FBS solutions ranging from scale-up file servers and NAS devices to scale-out global file stores based on clustered or grid architectures. This diversity of options is complicating management and posing significant investment challenges." — Richard Villars, vice president, Storage and IT Executive Strategies Get Full Details About This Report >> |
