This study attempts to provide a snapshot of the impact of IP telephony solutions in the SMB market so far, focusing on current adoption trends and future adoption plans, while also investigating what SMB end-users perceive as the main benefits and inhibitors to voice and data convergence adoption. Results are also given for the top 5 Western European countries (Italy, France, Germany, Spain, and the U.K.) and for total Western Europe for the following vertical markets: financial services (including banking and insurance/other finance), discrete manufacturing, process manufacturing, transport, telecom/media; utilities/oil and gas, retail/wholesale, business services, healthcare, and government. "For the most part, SMBs view cost efficiencies as the main benefits of IP telephony adoption, said Nina Bonagura, senior research analyst, European Vertical markets. "Undoubtedly, small companies have traditionally been largely receptive of technologies that help contain costs, and this is even more important now that financial resources are scarcer, and the need to protect them is more essential. However, survey results show that the importance of deployment of IP services and integrated IP applications is the second most important driver of IP telephony adoption. This confirms the fact that SMBs have begun to recognize that there is more to IP telephony than simple voice and data cost reductions." Get Full Details About This Report >> |
