Abstract

This IDC study (which is a translation of the Japanese report IDC #J9050105) analyzes the user utilization trends for enterprise conference solutions that are based on the "2009 Enterprise Conference Solutions User Utilization Trends Survey" conducted in June 2009. IDC positions the IP conferencing/telepresence market as a part of the unified communications (UC) market. Despite the sluggish economic conditions, this solutions market is growing steadily.

"Conference solutions vendors and sales channels should target enterprises of specific size/industry and offer them the appropriate solutions that meet their needs. They should also increase their business opportunities by offering conference solutions as business continuity measures to users. In addition, the service market is forecast to grow in the future, and vendors should strengthen partnerships with service providers," says Takashi Manabe, research manager, Communications, IDC Japan.
