Abstract

This IDC study discusses the current priorities of the government, financial, and manufacturing sectors pertaining to the adoption of document-related solutions. It uncovers the decision-making factors, the challenges faced, drivers valued by end users, and the verticals most likely to spend on the discussed services.

"Within Asia/Pacific, organizations in the public, financial, and manufacturing sectors are focused on cost management/reduction strategies. While the government is less concerned about costs and more keen on job retention for their citizens and ensuring that the economic impact of the global economic downturn is minimized, the manufacturing and financial sectors are keenly focused on customer retention strategies. However, over the next two years, IDC does expect the demand for business process-related services such as business process outsourcing (BPO), document solutions, and managed print services (MPS) to be of increasing focus, particularly from a cost management and process improvement perspective, creating a sustainable competitive advantage for organizations that want to be poised for recovery," says Suchitra Narayan, research manager, Services, IDC Asia/Pacific.
