Abstract

This IDC study explores adoption of devices by small and medium-sized businesses and vendor opportunities. IDC's 2009 SMB Mobility IT Decision-Maker Survey sought insight from respondents in the United States and Western Europe (represented by Germany and the United Kingdom) on their companies' device, software, operator, and channel preferences.

"Growing interest in mobile applications is affecting IT purchasers' decision drivers," says Timothy Doherty, associate research analyst for Small and Medium Business Markets: Mobility, "while emerging categories of devices such as wirelessly enabled netbooks are gaining traction and offering broader choices for the mobile business."
