Abstract

This study examines the business analytics (BA) software market for 2007-2013, with vendor revenue trends and market growth forecasts. A five-year growth forecast for this market is shown for 2009-2013. Revenue and market share of the leading vendors are provided for 2008.

"The Norwegian BA showed healthy growth in 2008 of 9.4%, but the recession started impacting the market by the end of 2008 — and that lack of momentum has continued into 2009," says Brian Troelsen, Research Manager for IT Services and Telecoms, IDC Nordic. "BA software and related services are not as affected by the financial crisis as other software markets due to strong underlying demand for data analysis and quantitative support for critical decisions," adds Troelsen.
