The document provides an examination of survey responses related to portable media player ownership and purchase intention. "Portable media player ownership among U.S. consumers is beginning to flatten out, with nearly 60% of all respondents reporting owning a portable media player, or living in a household with someone who does, as of the end of 2008, compared with 56.5% who reported the same a year earlier. As the U.S. PMP market continues to decline in terms of unit shipments in 2009, device vendors can strengthen their positions by getting better at the fundamentals and improving the experience of consuming multimedia on PMPs and also by adding connected multimedia and productivity services and applications." — Susan Kevorkian, program director, Digital Marketplace Get Full Details About This Report >> |
