AbstractIntroductionChronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) is a rare blood cancer; nonetheless, CML treatments garner substantial revenues. Despite recent advances in the treatment of this disease (most notably, targeted therapeutics such as Novartis's Gleevec/Glivec [imatinib]), significant unmet needs remain because certain segments of the CML patient population are intolerant of or become resistant to existing therapies.
