"The study shows that the majority of respondents are in the maintenance mode as far as investments in infrastructure software are concerned. It also indicates that system and network management software (SNMS) is a key area of focus for increasing investments. Respondents also indicate that when choosing a vendor, cost was secondary, but software reliability was not to be compromised," says Daphne Chung, senior research manager, System Infrastructure and Middleware Software Research, IDC Asia/Pacific.
