AbstractIn the developed world there can be few greater iconic escapes or lifestyles to aspire to than yachting. This is partly a function of what yachting is ie a leisure activity that can - for the very lucky - be lived permanently, but perhaps more importantly because yachting probably conjures up a greater level of idyllic images and notions than any other sector of tourism.
This report examines and analyses the international yachting sector. The objective is to describe what is encompassed and meant by yachting tourism; to offer an analysis of yachting tourism’s current and future market and economic performance; to identify trends in yachting tourism in terms of economics, destinations, and markets; and to identify key factors and changes that yachting tourism is, and will in future be, subject to.
