Abstract

Dutch regulator OPTA is in the process of imposing an open access regulation on Dutch cable operators that will concern TV distribution only. While this may open some opportunities for a limited number of established players, it’s unlikely to prompt a significant shift in the market. Other regulators in cable-strong countries however might be looking into variants of this regulation in the near future.
