eHealth NOW: British Columbia UpdatePublished by: Branham Group, Inc. Published: Sep. 1, 2008 - 9 Pages Table of Contents
AbstractBritish Columbia is in a state of flux as it prepares for an aging population and a shrinking workforce. It is projected that by 2031, nearly 1 in 4 citizens in the province will be seniors. The province will need to implement technologies that will increase efficiencies and improve workflow, to provide a consistent standard of care with fewer workers and a growing demographic of chronic disease sufferers. An additional priority across the province is the concept of green IT in hospital construction and infrastructure. Two such projects are the new $350-million Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, as well as the $9 million, 20 bed mental health rehabilitation facility, Cypress Lodge. Furthermore, the Health Authority Shared Services Organization (HASSO) was created in 2008, and is expected to provide all non-clinical Back Office Services to the RHAs to reduce costs and duplication of efforts.Get Full Details About This Report >> |
