AbstractCroatia’s domestic consumer electronics devices market, defined as including computing devices, mobilehandsets and video audio and gaming products, is projected to be worth around US$1.2bn in 2008.Despite projected negative private consumption growth in 2009, demand is forecast to increase at acompound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7% to US$1.7bn by 2013, driven by rising incomes andgrowing popularity of notebook computers, 3G handsets, LCD TV sets, digital cameras and other keyproducts.Computers Computer hardware accounted for around62% of Croatian consumer electronicsspending in 2008 and will continue to bethe largest product segment. BMIforecasts Croatian domestic marketcomputer sales (including notebooks andaccessories) of US$627mn in 2009, upfrom US$566mn in 2008. Computerhardware CAGR for the 2009-2013period is forecast at about 10%, driven bysales of notebooks and netbooks. AV AV devices accounted for around 23% ofCroatian consumer electronics spendingin 2008. The Croatian domestic AVdevice market was estimated atUS$261mn. Following a sharp slowdownin 2009, a CAGR of around 2.1% isprojected for 2009-2013, due largely tocontinued growth in the digital TV setcategory.
