AbstractSingapore’s domestic consumer electronics devices market, defined as including computing devices, mobile handsets, and video, audio and gaming products, was estimated to be worth around US$3.1bn in 2008. This expected to increase to US$4.2bn by 2013, at a CAGR of 6%.Computers Computers accounted for around 70% of Singapore consumer electronics spending of US$3.1bn in 2008. BMI forecasts Singapore computer hardware sales of US$2.1bn in 2009, up from US$2.0bn the previous year. With government projects helping to drive the market, CAGR for the 2008-2013 period will be around 7%, and there will also be growth in multimedia and entertainment notebooks and netbooks. AV Singapore’s domestic video, audio and gaming device market was estimated at US$712mn in 2008. The market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 3% between 2008-2013, to a value of US$816mn in that year. Video applications such as LCD TV sets and digital cameras will continue to provide growth at a slower rate, while faster growth product groups will include Blu- Ray DVD players. Mobile Handsets Singapore mobile handset sales accounted for less than 10% of Singapore consumer electronics spending in 2008. Total Singapore market handset sales are expected to grow at a CAGR of about 2% to US$224mn in 2013, with the market driven mainly by replacements as penetration is already above 100%.
