AbstractIndia’s domestic consumer electronics devices market, defined as including computing devices, mobile handsets, and video audio and gaming products, was estimated to be worth around US$26.6bn in 2008.This is expected to increase to US$44.7bn by 2013, driven by rising incomes and growing affordability. Computers Computers accounted for around 28% of Indian consumer electronics spending in 2008. BMI forecasts India domestic market computer sales (including notebooks and accessories) of US$6.7bn in 2009, up from US$6bn in 2008. Video applications account for around 86% of the total market. Mobile Handsets Indian mobile handset sales accounted for around 33% of Indian consumer electronics spending in 2008.
