• Belarusian milk and dairy products market is a growing, non-mature and highly fragmented market. Market is closely regulated by the government in terms of sanitary and public health standards, as well as pricing.
• Since the USSR, Belarus inherited a huge milk production and processing capacities.
• The Republic of Belarus is a fully self-sufficient country in terms of milk and milk products production.
• Today, Belarusian milk and dairy products production potential is highly required on the Russian market, which has been constantly experiencing deficit of its own milk; hence Russia is a net importer of milk and milk products.
• Exports supplies of dairy products into the Russian Federation amounts to about 90% of the total Belarusian dairy exports.
