The study is part of IDC's ongoing communications research in APEJ and focuses on Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, the People's Republic of China (PRC), Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand. In this study, some findings of the Consumer 2.0 survey are also used to show the Internet usage behavior of consumers. The survey was conducted among urban Internet users in Australia, the PRC, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan. "In 2008, residential broadband subscribers in the region totaled 107.4 million. This figure will increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.3% out to 2013, reaching 183.5 million in that year. xDSL was the broadband access technology of choice, accounting for over 74 million residential subscribers across the region, and equaling 69% of all subscribers," says Kenneth Liew, senior market analyst, Communications Research, IDC Asia/Pacific.
