Abstract

This IDC study shows the results of IDC's Asia/Pacific Online Gaming Survey 2008, which polled 1,640 online PC gamers in the People's Republic of China (PRC), Korea, the Philippines, and Singapore on their usage dynamics and gaming preferences, in detail.

"As online gaming interest continues to rise in the region, it becomes more important for developers and online gaming service providers (SP) to plan their marketing approach and focus," says Ang Poon Wei, market analyst, Software Research, IDC Asia/Pacific. "IDC believes that with a better understanding of online gamer preference and behavior, developers and online gaming SPs will be able to better develop, position, and market online games," he added.
